Shot list

(1) Front page:  A medium shot of a male artist pointing towards the camera. This is a conventional pose as is shown in many Hip Hop music videos. It will also look as if the artist is pressing the play button, linking back to the magazine mast-head which is 'Press Play'.
The artist would be wearing a red t-shirt and a black cardigan to match the colour scheme; red, black and white. Once I capture this picture, I plan to cut around it on Photoshop using the lasso tool/magic wand; as I want the shot to focus on the artist, therefore the reader can easily focus on him rather than an unnecessary background.
I would like the artist to wear some sort of jewellery (chain/ring/watch), because this is typical from the artist's shot in magazine covers such as 'Vibe' and 'XXL'.

(2) Contents page: A medium shot of the artist facing sideways and pointing up. Once I edit this on Photoshop, it would look as if he is pointing to the words 'Contents'. Like on the front cover, he would be cut out using the Photoshop tools. He would be wearing the same clothes which would be cohesive throughout.

(3) Double page spread (DPS): A Long shot of the artist looking up towards the sky, his arms and hands facing outwards below his chest so it looks as if he is praying. This type of pose is demonstrated by the Rapper Lupe Fiasco in a front cover of Vibe magazine. In many Hip Hop music videos, artists rap about their life and their struggle's through it. The artist would be leaning against a tree, showing the natural surroundings of nature. This suggests the pure nature of the artist too, which contradicts to the stereotypes and how the media portray rappers as criminals and thugs. This concept of stereotypes would be explained in the article. The tree symbolises many things, such as the tree of knowledge in The story of Adam and Eve. Therefore, the shot may suggest the artist has visited this tree to gain knowledge, and it emphasises the idea of him praying, as he asks for forgiveness; like Adam and Eve.
Similar to the front cover and contents page, the artist would be wearing the same clothes, but in this shot his trainers would be shown, these trainers would be black, white and red; matching the colour scheme.
I’m not too sure if I will cut out the background, as I want it to be shown on the DPS.
